Accounting is great (OK its not) but we do need a way to "measure" the success of our students and teachers...distilling everything down to a number than be compared and yes, manipulated is the way of the world today.
Objectivity is sure, certain and quick - left brain rules. Subjectivity is soft hard to quantify (shut up left brain) subjectivity is way harder...the art of education.
People like Michelle Rhee and others, Seth Godin has some amazing ideas n education...all heir stuff us harder...bu don't we owe that to ourselves, our kids...the hard stuff!

As an American I was literally jolted by the headlines this morning....is this what we've really come down to? Economic Fairness for all - is this Washington DC or Leningrad? really think about what the President is saying, FORGET the republican or democrat label crap - think of it as an American - this should scare the hell out of us!
No more hope of exceptionalism, hope of boldness, hope of excellence, hope of WINNING?
Are we at the point where the best we can do is split up what we got?
Both sides are driving me nuts...call it consulting, call it related services, call it whatever the hell you want....it's all bullshit!
Let's say it's true........for argument sake the Republicans love and protect the rich, the one percent, the Romneys. As Kruathammer says (the Dems say) "Republicans put party over nation, fat cat donors over (regular folks), political power over everything."
If that is all so true, President Obama harkens it daily...how does one explain, justify how that same man turns around and fetes multiple $30,000 a plate fundraisers - 3 in one day in NYC last week for gods sake! Where / how does he raise a projected $750,000,000 - from the 99%? You'd need 99% of the 99% for that kinda dough
The hypocrisy is deafening and worse it's killing this great nation. STOP!
